Welcome - Climate
Sekhukhune is blessed with a climate which is ideal for
agricultural activities. Agriculture is one of the core businesses
in the District and generates a lot of the area's annual income.
It is not without reason that Sekhukhune is part of the “Sunshine
Valley”. The summer months in Sekhukhune starts at late August and
ends late April. In fact, Sekhukhune only have 3 months of real
winter weather.
Sekhukhune is any Land Scape Artist’s dream. The natural
vegetation is bushveld with tropical and sub-tropical vegetation
growing in a lot of gardens.
With January being one of the warmest months during Summer, the
maximum temperatures can go as high as 38°C.
During July, which in turn is one of the coldest months of
Winter, the temperature can drop to a minimum of 7°C and a maximum
of 28.2°C.
The average annual rainfall is ± 559mm.
