Due to the construction of the new bridge that connects Hospital and the Blaauwberg Street, the Polokwane Municipality will close part of the Hospital next to the Game Shopping Centre. Hospital Street will be closed from Monday, February 1, 2010 to as the construction of the new stadium is now approaching the City Centre. Construction of this bridge is scheduled to break during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ and construction will resume in August 2010. A portion of Hospital Street between Church and Market Streets that passes between Telkom and Game Shopping Complex will be closed off for the said duration. This is done to allow improvement on the approach of the bridge from Hospital Street. The same will also apply on Blaauwberg Street which will also be closed for the duration of the construction. Minibus taxis that uses the Blaauwberg Street to access the Polokwane Taxi Centre will have to use alternative routes that will be made available as per traffic accommodation plan.
